High value datasets

V januári 2020 publikoval EU Data Portal materiál o tzv. "High-value datasets" (datasety s vysokou hodnotou). Materiál popisuje stratégiu, ktorou chce EÚ dosiahnuť väčší úžitok z otvorených údajov, zjednodušene: prioritne zverejňovať tie údaje, ktoré majú potenciál pre spoločnosť a ekonomiku.

Prioritné témy:

• geoinformácie (Geospatial)
• pozorovanie Zeme a životné prostredie (Earth observation and environment)
• meteorologické údaje (Meteorological)
• štatistické údaje (Statistics)
• firmy a ich vlastnícka štruktúra (Companies and company ownership)
• doprava (Mobility)

Príklady datasetov o ktorých sa predpokladá, že majú vysoký potenciál:

• PSČ (Postcodes)
• národné a regionálne mapy (national and local maps, Geospatial)
• spotreba energie (Energy consumption)
• satelitné snímky (satellite images, Earth observation and environment)
• údaje zo senzorov a meteorologických staníc (In situ data from instruments and weather forecasts, Meteorological)
• demografické a ekonomické indikátory (Demographic and economic indicators, Statistics)
• obchodné registre a informácie o identifikátoroch subjektov (Business registers and registration identifiers, Companies and company ownership)
• dopravné značenie či vnútrozemské vodné cesty (Road signs and inland waterways, Mobility.

In addition, the Open Data Directive requires the adoption by the Commission (via a future implementing act) of a list of high-value datasets to be provided free of charge. These datasets, to be identified within a thematic range described in the Annex to the Directive, have a high commercial potential and can speed up the emergence of value-added EU-wide information products. They will also serve as key data sources for the development of Artificial Intelligence.
