Data comsumer is the user not to be logged in the ODN. Openness of the data makes the ODN datasets and other outupts accessible to any public visitor.

The data and their metadata are then to be displayed, searched, filtered, shared and downloaded.

Precisely:

  1. Data consumer may access published data (using ODN/PublicCatalog)

    1. Data consumer may download file dumps of published data

    2. Data consumer may access published data via REST API/SPARQL Endpoint API

    3. Data consumerApplication developer may access Apache  subscribes for Atom feed of the catalog (or particular catalog record, e.g. dataset) to keep track of updated content of the catalog and its records. get published data which changed from the last time.

  2. Data consumer displays the list of datasets contained in the catalog using:

    1. GUI of the catalog (list of datasets)

    2. API of the catalog (list of datasets in machine readable form)

  3. Data consumer retrieves metadata about the particular dataset in ODN/PubliCatalog in machine readable form via catalog API

  4. Data consumer shares a dataset or its resource by using social media

  5. Data consumer displays (using ODN/PublicCatalog):

    1. metadata of the dataset

    2. metadata of dataset’s resource

    3. visuzalizations of dataset’s resource

    4. metadata of the application
